Hi,
As the camera coverage in 3D World is infinite - is there a setting to limit the extent of the coverage that is shown by either:
-a certain distance (50m)? or
-coverage grade (i.e. only show identify and omit recognise and lower grades)?
Thanks in advanced for your advice.
Michael.
Limiting 3D World Camera Coverage
Re: Limiting 3D World Camera Coverage
Hello, Michael
>As the camera coverage in 3D World is infinite - is there a setting to limit the extent of the coverage that is shown by either:
First of all, let's differentiate two terms 3D View area and Coverage:
3D view area is limited to surrounding objects. But the limitations are calculated dynamically only for the active camera when the 3D World window is opened. Inactive cameras display limitations from memory. This is done to speed up the program, especially if there are many cameras. If the 3D view area limitations have been not calculated, the 3D view area is displayed endlessly. To recalculate the limitations of a camera - activate it when the 3D World window is opened.
To recalculate the limits at once for all cameras, click on the Recalc button. on the View tab of the 3D World window.
See 3D View area http://cctvcad.com/videocad_help/index. ... dworld.htm

You can set distance limits for each camera using the "Maximum distance of drawing View area" option in the Camera Geometry box. This parameter also limits the view area projection in the Graphics window, disables 3D models located farther from the camera and it is taken into account when generating images for the PDF report.

It is also possible. You can create a special spatial resolution pattern that includes only identification. Then assign the pattern to the camera. See details http://cctvcad.com/videocad_help/index. ... lution.htm
Coverage is a boundary of the view area on surrounding objects.
Coverage is displayed over the surrounding objects and is limited by them. Coverage is only displayed for the active camera.
You can also limit Coverage by the "Maximum distance of drawing View area" option or use a special Spatial resolution pattern as well as for the 3D view area.

Re: Limiting 3D World Camera Coverage
Cheers for the very detailed answer, Support. I was unclear about the camera coverage too. This helped a ton!
